Simple circular route that we can still shorten in intensity and meters if we return by the same place from Katilotxu. We leave Lurdeia to visit the summits of Arribieta(322) and Katilotxu(337) with beautiful views over the Urdaibai biosphere reserve and the village of Mundaka.
In addition, the summits of Arribieta and Katilotxu contain megalithic remains: a collective tomb from the Neolithic period in the case of Katilotxu and a dolmen in the case of Arribieta. [+ information]
Note: The initial two kilometers cannot be done because of a fence. So we save almost a mile.
Therefore, the journey to and from Katilotxu is 7 kilometres long.
